About KLF Camp Staffing
A short story of how KLF Camp Staffing was founded
Ken L. Freedman (KLF) began his camp journey in the early 1970s as a general counselor at KenMont Camp.
KLF Camp Staffing was founded in 2015 by Ken L. Freedman, a passionate summer camp lifer who currently serves as the Food Service Director at Camp Equinunk and Blue Ridge in Pennsylvania.
Ken got his start in camping in 1971 (see above: second from the right) as a general counselor at KenMont Kenwood Camp in Connecticut. Since then, he's held different positions at a few different camps, including Assistant Director and Food Service Director, a position he's held since 2010
He founded KLF Camp Staffing to fill a glaring need in camp recruiting: finding talented and reliable chefs. As someone who interviews chefs himself, he understood the challenge camps were facing. In 2023, he expanded his services to include nurses, an equally hard-to-fill summer position.
Since 2015, KLF Camp Staffing has placed more than 150 chefs at summer camps across the country.

Owner and CEO
Ken Freedman
Ken got his start in camping in 1971. Since 2015, he's been the Food Service Director at Camps Equinunk and Blue Ridge, a co-ed camp in Pennsylvania. In the non-summer months, Ken heads up Chef Recruiting operations at KLF Camp Staffing.
Nurse Recruiting Specialist
Sue Siegel
Sue was the Director of Staff Recruiting for the Cohen Camps from 2001-2023. In total, Sue has more than 40 years of experience in staff development and human resources. She joined KLF Camp Staffing in 2023 to head up Nurse Recruiting operations.
